We got up early, with a very long day of driving ahead of us. The plan was to get all the way into Utah to camp that night. We got to our destination, Red Cliffs National Recreation Area campground by mid afternoon. It was quite beautiful, and as the name implied, the entire campground was surrounded by red rocky cliffs on all sides. Running through the middle was a nice creek, and alot of shade trees. Of the 12 campsites, only 2 were still available when we arrived, and by the time dinner arrived, the entire campground was full. The weather was nice, although a bit on the hot side. David and I went for a short hike behind the campsite and found a few different varieties of cactus in full bloom plus random lizards sunning themselves. Also, just a few feet away from out tent there was a vole's nest, and he kept popping up to grab some greenery to eat, and then darting back down. Other than a few buzzing insets, we slept relatively well that night.
All the pictures are posted here and here(landscapes).
