Chase, you suck
I received a letter in the mail today from Chase (the bank). In it they ranted on about how privileged I was to have my credit card "updated" to the new "Unlimited Awards" program. Then towards the bottom, there's this short blurb "There's no yearly rewards membership fee for the first yearly its completed waived. After that, you'll pay just \$30 a year for all the benefits of Chase Freedom". Err, W T F ?
So, I called them to opt out of this wonderful little bait & switch routine, and was politely informed that there is no "opt out" for this program, other than to cancel & close the account. I've had this card since college (over 10 years). Looks like its time to shop for a new credit card that doesn't have an annual fee for people who have paid their balance on time and in full 100% of the time for the past 15 years.
