day 5 of 7
This post is part 5 of the "days-2003" series:
Today was busy. I started backing up HAL with Mondo Rescue. I say started because i'm into the 7th hour and its not done yet. I never thought that backing up 60GB of data take along time. In so doing, I've discovered that a number of the CDRs that i got as freebies about 3 years ago are duds. Either the CDRW drive won't recognize them at all, or just writes a few MBs and then dies with some scary bad errors like these:
Track 01: 18 of 411 MB written (fifo 96%).cdrecord: Input/output error. write_g1: scsi sendcmd: no error
CDB: 2A 00 00 00 24 92 00 00 1F 00
status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)
Sense Bytes: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 21 00 00 00
Sense Key: 0x5 Illegal Request, Segment 0
Let's see what else. David hit the 14 month mark today. He's now walking about 99% of the time. This afternoon we went down to the 'water feature' and played on the lawn for about an hour. I took 40 pictures today (already uploaded). He was anamored with the storm drain for some bizarre reason.
Last night I watched Revolution OS. It was mildly interesting, although the segments with Eric Raymond grated on my nerves, as he always exhudes this air of superiority that i can't stand. I saw people from the 'old' days at VA, which was amusing.
