where the wild things are

We went to the drive-in last night and saw Where the Wild Things Are followed by Astro Boy.
Where the Wild Things Are was quite good, however it was not a film targetted at children. While David seemed genuinely interested in the film, there were chunks where he was either very confused or just bored (and a few moments where he said he was scared). They did a great job expanding what is really a very short story into a film with alot of depth. However, there's not much plot, as its more a study of how a boy copes emotionally with the frustrations and challenges in his life.
Astro Boy was a muddled mess of a film. Way too many unresolved subplots, stereotypical characters (the villain has a mustache!), and numerous logic holes. David was really looking forward to seeing it (more so than WtWTA), and even he seemed a bit disappointed.
