The term "Status Change Request Form" will forever haunt me.

This thread is currently making the memepool rounds on the tubes. Interesting stuff, although not altogether that shocking for the most part. I've never worked at Google, and yet elsewhere I've experienced many of the problems that the Googlers complained about. The reality is that being a manager is _hard_ work, and doing it well is even harder. I'm not defending anyone's actions. I've had alot of truly crappy managers, and very few good managers. Sadly, most companies don't put much effort or value into making sure that their managers do their jobs well.
