I watched Appaloosa tonight. This film had a decent amount of potential, but for every thing that was done well, there were at least two that were wrong. For example, the casting. Viggo Mortensen & Ed Harris, were perfect for their roles. Renee Zellweger & Jeremey Irons were horrible. Jeremey Irons is a decent actor, but convincing me that there's a crooked rancher in New Mexico with a British accent was epic fail. Renee Zellweger is horrible in everything, because grimacing isn't acting. The plot felt a bit thin as well. Ed & Viggo are the law, trying to bring justice to a renegade rancher, but it felt directionless more often than not. Then there was the credits. The photographs added a wonderful touch of authenticity, but then there's the horrible soundtrack behind them.
