Sweeny Todd

Last night we saw Sweeny Todd. I'm still undecided how I feel about. It was certainly another classic Tim Burton film, with a very dark atmosphere. However, I found it hard to get involved with the characters, since they were so clearly just singing their way through the plot. I fully understand that Sweeny Todd was a Broadway musical, but at the same time I feel that alot more effort should have been made to translate that musical to being a film. It just felt way too much like I was watching the musical, which isn't at all what I wanted.
