far north

I saw Far North tonight. Talk about bleak, cold, tragedies. This film was set somewhere far north of the arctic circle, and not counting the extras, had about 5 actors in it. The basic plot in a nutshell is that it tells the story of this cursed aboriginal woman who basically ruins (as in gets killed) the life of anyone who gets close to her. Set this across a backdrop of ice floes, blizzards, reindeer, and the aurora borealis, and its got the makings of some Shakespearean caliber tragedy. The acting was fairly decent, although there really wasn't all that much story here, and it often felt very stretched (slow). All the same, I liked it, although the ending turn a really bizarre & disturbing takes a turn into wtf land.
