After countless kernel builds, I finally got both wifi and ACPI working at the same time on the new laptop.
Looks like the magic trick was the 2.4.22-pre2 kernel patch.
So, one project down, 2 to go.
Also, I just finished watching Impostor. It wasn't bad for sci-fi. The ending is kind of open ended, which is mildly disapointing.
