why VA is doomed
I was scanning the latest cool links on del.icio.us today and ran across this gold mine.
I spent over 4 years attempting to advocate for the users, and made very little headway. I'm both pleased and disapointed that its all now going to hell there. I still have friends there who deserve far better, and the SFEE side of the business is imploding rapidly. Staff are leaving rapidly, and the business isn't growing. Nevermind the quarterly results, they mask the extreme disfunctionality inside the company. I don't see how they can continue on their current path for another year, and more importantly shouldn't. What does it say about an organization when the VP of Marketing, Director of Marketing, Director of Engineering, Manager of Development, Manager of Product Support, Director of Product Management and members of the support & development teams have resigned in the past 6 months? Its an absolute bloodbath over there, and there's nothing that can excuse that string of departures other than a failure of management at the top.
