where's the plot? or why sci-fi TV is on thin ice
I've been watching 'The 4400' for a while now. It really started with a strong plot, a good premise, and decent acting. However, after the first few episodes, it was as if the writers realized that they only had about 20 episodes worth of real plot development, and after that, they'd be done. So they started writing fluff episodes where inconsequential characters got involved in plotlines that went no where, and were forgotten about the following week. To some degree Battlestar Gallactica has/had the same problem, but they've held up alot better overall than the 4400. Every week, I think, I'll give them one more week to improve, or I'm giving up, and then they actually have a decent episode and I get strung along.
Work was, predictable, chaotic today. It was one of those days that started off relatively quietly, and quickly went downhill into madness. The highlight was 2.5 hours on the phone with a customer. These short weeks are both a blessing and a curse. *sigh*
