what is this kwality of which you speak?
The gripe for the month is quality, or the lack thereof. There are a few members of the development group who clearly do not value the concept of quality. One them seems to have an utter disregard for QA. Another just doesn't believe in testing anything before checking it in. Examples; checking in some new test apps which will not build until a new compiler is checked in. Since the compiler checkin wasn't his responsibility, he checked them in anyway, and the apps failed to build until someone else checked in the new compiler. Another checked in a new test app first, and then checked in the driver change that the app was tasked with testing. If ever there was a case of putting the cart in front of the horse, this was it. Now none of this is to suggest that its a widespread problem, however for a few individuals, they clearly have no awareness of trying to ensure that quality is the goal of their work. They're focused on getting some task finished, and moving onto the next, regardless of whether they did the task well.
