I saw The Reader tonight. The film tells the story of post-WW2 Germany, where a female ex-concentration camp guard has a brief affair with a teenage boy, and then later follows how it impacts the boy's life. The premise seems intriguing, but in reality, there was so very little plot holding this film together. The acting was mostly alot of people with poor German accents staring emotionless into space. I guess I just don't understand what all the raves were for this film. It left me feeling unsympathetic to just about all the characters.
