I spent the day fighting the computer, and winning for the most part. 2.4.21 came out yesterday, after 6 long months with no new stable kernel releases. So i tried to build it on hal, and I couldn't even get past step one. After about 6 hours of Googling, I figured out that it was an old pre-release version of make that was causing the blowups.
Unfortunately, the patch for acpi in 2.4.x isn't cooked yet for 2.4.21-final,so i'm going to have to wait on that. And unfortunately, it looks like Airo support in 2.4.21 is completely horked. I'm prolly going to have to subscribe to the airo developers list to get some attention, because this is just a complete mess.
