sunday 10/17
We had several hours free on sunday, and weren't really sure what to do. We were checking out of the Sahara that day, and spending the last night at Sam's Town. This meant that we were technically homeless for a chunk of the day. On top of that, Denise's sister wanted to lay by the pool at the Sahara.
We eneded up driving to The Valley of Fire state park. The drive there was a bit longer than I would have liked (about 45 minutes), but I think it was worth it. The park turned out to be much smaller than I expected, but again I thought it was worth it. It was quite similar to Red Rock Canyon in alot of ways, but alot more spread out, and we were able to get up close to the red rocks. I got some good pictures, and David kept saying 'reh roh' over and over.
Afterwards we drove back to vegas, checked into Sam's Town, went back to the sahara, picked up denise's sister, then drove back to sam's town, and finally went to dinner at the buffet at The Rio.
