snow and rain

Yesterday we drove up to Lake Tahoe. The drive up took about 3 hours, and we didn't have any place specific in mind to go, so we were just driving until we found some were that looked good. We ended up stopping at the Sno Park at Echo Summit. We forgot the camera, so we didn't get to take any pictures, unfortunately. The roads were alot more clear than in those pictures, but other than that, the volume of snow was roughly the same. Echo Summit is about 7300ft up, so the altitude was noticable. The sledding hill was huge. David had a lot of fun, waddling around in his coat & mittens. The snow was very deep (about 6ft in some places), and Denise almost fell into a snow drift at one point. It wasn't too cold though (mid 30s mostly), and the sun was out, so the weather was quite nice.
The drive back wasn't nearly as nice, as we ran into traffic outside of Sacramento.
David was supposed to get a flu booster shot today, but the DR ran out, and its likely that they will not get more this winter.
