mythic proportions

We left for our vacation this afternoon, to have dinner at Myth. We had never been to Myth before, but had read alot of great reviews. In short, this was an absolutely amazing dining experience. The service, atmophere and food were all stellar. We started off by ordering Lobster Gazpacho with Dungeness Crab, Lemongrass, Cilantro and Croutons (for me)

and Warm Sweetbread Salad with Bacon, Sherry Vinegar, Shiitakes and Grain Mustard for Denise:

The gazpacho was ok, although it had a strange flavor that I couldn't quite figure out. Denise's sweat bread was amazing, so flavorful. It was like having a very rich, buttery, bacony bread, yet so much more.
For a main course, I ordered Seared Lamb Chops with Navy Beans, Chorizo Sausage, Arugula and Madeira Sauce:

and Denise ordered Brined and Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Pork Belly, Egg Dumplings and Soy Sherry Sauce:

Again, both plates were perfect. The sauce in mine was so savory & meaty.
The desserts were equally amazing. Denise got a flourless chocolate cake, with bittersweet chocolate cream, carmelized bananas, with a vanilla caramel sauce and creme frace ice cream. The ice cream was easily the most amazing part, as it was like this amazing party of fireworks in my mouth:

I had a mint chocolate chip souffle, with dark chocolate sauce:

That night we stayed at the Bay Landing Hotel in Burlingame. It was ok, although I was expecting alot more. The feather pillows compressed into a flat pit, and the complimentary breakfast was little more than pre-packaged, microwavable, canned, foods. Also, the walls were paper thin, so that the noise coming from the hallway and the rooms around us woke me up. One weird touch was a remote control for the air-conditioner.
