I ended up taking a short nap this afternoon, when i found myself falling asleep sitting on the couch. It was nice, although sleeping longer would have been better.
I've been getting some really weird latency and sluggishness with Mozilla ever since booting into a 2.6.10 kernel. I thought that it might have been compiling support for multiple IO schedulers into the kernel, so I rebuilt the kernel with only the anticipatory scheduler. When trying to reboot, it can't hanging during a SCSI bus reset at the first (of 3) SCSI drives. I ended up opening up the box, and disconnecting the first drive from the SCSI chain, and that fixed the boot problem. Thankfully that drive was only holding MP3s, and nothing critical. Of course, now I need to find a replacement 36GB SCSI drive. What is more disapointing is that the sluggishness is still here with the new kernel.
This evening, I wathced Kinsey. It was interesting, but very dry and clincical. I suppse that might have been intentional.
