hiking to the sea
I woke up at 6:30AM today to make a 2 hour drive north of the city to explore some tide pools and go hiking.
First I went to Duxbury Reef in Bolinas. I was hoping to find alot of starfish and anemones, but unfortunately, all I saw was alot of assorted sea plants, and some tiny snails & hermit crabs. I did find a few starfish and a few decent sized crabs.
Afterwards, I drove another 15 miles north up route 1 to Point Reyes National Sea Shore. I did the 9 mile (roundtrip) hike on the Bear Valley Trail out to Arch Rock. The hike back was a bit rough, but overall it was worth it.
I had a pretty good day, although I found out last night, and continuing today, that David seems to have some kind of stomach virus. He's having trouble keeping anything down since last night. I wish i could be there to comfort him, but instead i'm here all by myself, watching the cats fight.
