hiking
Yesterday we went hiking on the Mountain Home trailhead which went through Mount Tamalpais State Park & Muir Woods National Monument. The hike was pretty good, with alot of woodland forests with Redwoods along the way. We ate lunch in a meadow about 2 miles in, and then descended down into a redwood forest. The forest was surprisingly wet, with alot of mushrooms growing. When we were in Muir Woods proper, there was some kind of ladybug hatching going on, as there were hundreds of them along the fence posts for several hundred feet. David was amused. When we were less than a mile from the end of the trail, we took the wrong fork in the trail, and ended up walking nearly a mile in the wrong direction before we figured it out. That tacked nearly 2 miles onto the 4.7 mile long trail. David was a real trooper, but he got really worn down during the extra two miles of hiking. Overall it was still a nice hike.
