grub sux

Yesterday I upgraded Denise's laptop from FC3 to FC4. The upgrade went nearly ok until the end where its supposed to update the grub bootloader, at which point grub hung. I killed grub, and upon the reboot, i was dropped into a crappy 'grub>' prompt. After about 6 hours of hacking trying to fix it, I ended up blowing away the contents of /boot/grub, repopulating them, then running the requisite grub commands:root (hd0,0) setup (hd0)
This is apparently some lame bug where grub barfs all over itself when trying to deal with a /boot that is on XFS. This crap has been around for years, it would be nice if they'd fix it already. *sigh*
