down and up the peninsula
We started the day by driving down to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum. Overall, we liked it alot. The exhibits were well designed and organized. A few semi-obvious pictures, for your viewing pleasure:

Afterwards, we took BART back into the city, for dinner reservations at Town Hall.
We started off with rabbit and sweet potato enchiladas with cilantro, lime creme fraiche & tomatillo salsa, and seafood (clam, lobster, etc) chowder:

Both of them were excellent. The chowder was incredibly creamy, yet not thick & goopy. The enchiladas were very well made, and the ingredients complimented eachother perfectly. For the main course, I had bacon wrapped wolf ranch quail with potatoes, ham hock croquettes, and Denise had grilled Niman Ranch rib eye steak with crispy onion rings, grilled broccolini and brown butter garlic sauce:

My quail was pretty good, but Denise's steak was amazing. For dessert, Denise had pineapple tart with vanilla rum icecream and guava, and I had sticky toffee cake with butter cream icing, caramel sauce and orange bourbon icecream:

The deserts were sheer perfection. The caramel sauce was so rich, so buttery, so thick, I can't describe it better.
I have to say that Town Hall was my favorite of all the places we dined on the trip. It had the perfect blend of upscale dining and casual service. I'd love to go back some time.
