doubt

Tonight, I watched Doubt. It tells the story of a nun who accuses the priest of their church of molesting an alter boy. The performances are almost all uniformly excellent. However, the story itself lumbered along at a glacial pace up until the final 30 minutes. Then, as if the writer realized that he had to wrap things up within 2 hours, the pace picked up considerably, and really made the film interesting. For what its worth, they never provide any clear proof to back up the accusations, however numerous subtle hints are dropped along the way that either strengthen the belief that this priest is, in fact, molesting boys, or adding to the doubt that this nun is just trying to destroy an innocent man.
