computers hate me
Ugh. computers have been making my life hell for the past 24 hours.
Last night i was in wireless hell. stupid aironet wifi card just kept Oopsing on me, for no apparent reason. so this made what should have been a 10 second job of scp'ing the pictures a 90 minute ordeal. i gave up on using wireless, and figured i'd just plug some good ole CAT5 in, but no, the stupid hub decides to take a dirt nap. After power cycling the hub a few times, i finally get the thinkpad to see the network, but its god awful slow for no apparent reason. I'm talking 12k/s tops. i never figured it out, and just settled on what i got. maybe i'll atteck it again tonight, i dunno. Also, XFCE4 is compeltely horked on the laptop. No menubar, and the load sits at 100%. No clue what is fuxored there either.
I actually had success replacing the motherboard on one of my boxes at work, but on the software side, its been a losing battle. XFCE4's menubar still refuses to stay where i put it, and the taskbar is still horked. Also, i had zero luck getting modules to load in the 2.5.68 kernel, even after correctly (or so i thought) generating /etc/modprobe.conf. I'm in the process of building 2.5.69 right now, so maybe it will behave better.
Denise still feels like death (her words). Ugh.
On the bright side, DeWayne was out today, so i actually got some work done without being handed 3924 time wasting mind numbing projects without a purpose.
