alcatraz
Left at 7AM for Alcatraz today. We ended up parking 8 blocks up Hyde Ave, which meant way up the hill from the waterfront. The views were incredible, and the walk down was easy. The ferry to the island was ok. David was flirting with everyone around him, including waving and giggling hysterically. Walking around the island was ok. Denise & I have been before, so it wasn't anything new for us. I got some great pictures, which have been uploaded.
The ferry ride back was a bit more choppy, but David was still flirting and having a lot of fun. We spent some time at Pier 39, although I can't say that I enjoyed it much. Its just one huge tourist trap. After that I had to walk back to the car, and then drive it back down the hill to pick everyone else up. That was not much fun at all, as walking up those 8 blocks was brutal, and apparently it went up to 89F today in SF (which broke a record). The drive back was uneventful, other than tons of Sunday afternoon traffic.
