5.6!
Approximately 20 minutes ago we had a 5.6 magnitude earthquake! This was both the largest quake we've experienced since moving out here 6.5 years ago, and also the first quake since we moved into the house. This really scared the crap out of us. All of the previous, lessor magnitude quakes were either a very gentle swaying feeling, or a subtle bumping. This was a very violent jittering accompanied by a horrible grumbling noise. Other than a few books getting knocked down on the bookshelf, there doesn't appear to have been any damage. David somehow slept through the entire thing, which is likely best.
There have already been 5 aftershocks of 1.x magnitude that we thankfully haven't felt.
