500 miles, snow, volcanoes and 90MPH

Yesterday was wild. Got up at 4:45AM, all 5 of us piled into the Passat and started the 250 mile drive to Lassen at 6AM. David had a small diaper issue about half way there, but i was still averaging about 80MPH,
Took just over 4 hours to go there. It was gorgeous, and there was still some SNOW! Not alot, just some patches here and there above 7000ft. We actually got out of the car and played in a snowy patch for a few minutes, so David got to play with snow for the first time, even though it was months old, and kinda dirty in spots. We also stopped at Lake Helen which was crystal clear wth a greenish-blue hue. The final stop was the southern visitor center, but unfortunately, the roads in the park were being re-surfaced, which resulted in only 1 lane being open, and traffic being held up until opposing traffic could pass, so it took nearly 45 minutes to drive 10 miles. The drive home took abou 3 hours, and after dinner, we got home just before 8:30PM. So we were gone for over 14 hours, but it was loads of fun.
I'll upload pictures tonight, assuming that I have time.
Today i'm back at work, and dreading it emensely.
