V for vapid
I watched V for Vendetta tonight. It felt like 1984 + The Matrix. The matrix part was explainable enough, since it was the same Wachowski brothers doing both of them. The 1984 part really just updated the plot to current day themes (blaming the US for setting up the world as a facist totalitarian state, and making the UK, yet again, the big brother). The public uprising really made little sense in the movie in the greater context of what was going on. None of the truly horrific things that the government were doing were ever exposed, so why would all these people risk their lives for a cause that was little more than some dude in a cape & mask blowing up a few buildings?
Thankfully, my cold, and my shoulder pain seem to have nearly gone away today. Hopefully the end is near for that misery.
