David appears to have come down with his first significant illness. He had a mildly runny nose when he woke up this morning, but was acting ok up until late afternoon. Just before dinner he started to get really whiny, and needy. He didn't eat dinnner as well as normal, and was generally cranky. Then after dinner, I noticed that he was really warm, and when we took his temperature it was 101.6F. At that point he was just crying and wimpering and it was pretty obvious that he wasn't feeeling well at all. We gave him two chewable tylenol, and as long as I was holding him on my shoulder he was reasonably calm. He started to get really drowsy (he was yawning alot while he was crying earlier) and was barely able to keep his eyes open. He freaked out when we were changing him into his pajamas, but calmed down afterwards. He was chatting to himself after we put him to bed, but is sleeping now.
I always dreaded the day when he got sick for the first time, and now its come. This week is going to suck for all of us.
