too smart for his own good
One afternoon last week Denise told me about how David got very excited and called her into his room. Apparently he had figured out how to type in 'google' into the address bar in firefox and had pulled up the Google website. Up until now, he was quite content to just stick to the PBS Kids button in the firefox toolbar. So now that he's decided to become the little hacker, we got concerned that he'd end up wandering into some scary corner of the interweb-tube. I setup tinyproxy with Dan's Guardian this afternoon to keep him (hopefully) out of trouble. Yes, I'm well aware that we should be monitoring his internet usage, but up until now he didn't even seem aware that he could get beyond the narrow range of age appropriate websites that we created little buttons for him to access. Of course now that he knows how to get to Google, he seems to have lost interest (probably because its all just words, and his written vocabulary is less than 100 words). Sitting and watching him play with the Boobahs is lowering my IQ by the second.
