this sucked

Back in February, when I purchased the new Passat, the dealer somehow managed to forget to have us sign some of the paperwork. A few weeks later in March, we got the unsigned form in the mail with a postage-paid envelope. I signed it, mailed it back, and didn't think anything else about it. Then last month, I got this bizarre letter in the mail from the bank that had financed the car back in 2002 (even though i had paid it off completely in 2004), confirming that I had paid it off. I thought it was weird, but ended up throwing it away as irrelevant. Two weeks ago we got a call from the car dealer informing us that they had actually *lost* the title from the 2002 Passat, and as a result they didn't have proof that I was the actual owner of the car (rather than the bank doing the financing), and that's why I had received the letter in the mail. How nice of the morons to tell me in advance. So the car dealer was actually irritated with me for tossing the bank letter, and told me that they'd left several messages with me, and they'd have to request another letter from the bank. So more time passes, and today there's a message left on the machine from the dealer, first admitting that they had been leaving all those messages at the wrong phone number(!!!!), and that the bank refuses to send out any more letters unless I request them personally. WTF?
To add insult to injury, I had the worst commute home ever today. 1 hour & 40 minutes. A truck somehow managed to stall in the middle of 2 lanes on I680-N, which resulted in traffic getting backed up 10 miles. So yesterday my drive home took 41 minutes, today 101 minutes.
