the toilet wars
David's progress in toilet training has been uneven. While he's done really well with the urination side of things (he hasn't worn diapers in the daytime in close to year, I think), there's been virtually no progress on the other side of the coin. For the longest time he was just violently afraid to sit on the toilet, and insited on using a diaper. We've tried all kinds of different approaches, from offering him rewards, to punishments, to pleading, to ignoring the problem, and nothing has worked. For the past week or so, he's gotten this idea in his head that he's not going to poop in his diaper any more, yet he also isn't willing to use the toilet. Today he actually asked to sit on the toilet, but nothing productive came of it. At this point, we're not sure what to do, as he's incredibly stubborn, but he might also be truly constipated. Getting information out of him isn't that easy.
My shoulder is a bit better today.
