the back strikes back

Just when I thought that my back pain problems were done, yesterday happened. The day started off OK, but by early afternoon, I was feeling some serious pain. We went to a Thanksgiving party last night (more on that later), and by the time I got home, it was pretty bad, and I ended up going to bed at 9PM. But it got worse over night. I woke up at 3AM in agony, and couldn't find any position that didn't hurt. I drifted in and out of sleep until David woke up at 8AM. The pain has diminished a little since I got up, but its still alot worse than its been in a long time (including muscle spasms coming out of no where).
So we went to the party, which was out in the boonies outside of Morgan Hill, so it took an hour to get there. I had a good time, and it seemed like David & Denise did too. It was a potluck affair, with the host making three turkeys. One was in the oven, another was deep fried in oil, and the 3rd was smoked. The smoked turkey was amazingly good, but the other two were good also. David was reasonably well behaved, and was charming some of the other guests. We brought dinner rolls that Denise had made from scratch, and two cranberry apple pies that I made the night before. My pies were a success (the only one that was completely finished).
