The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
I watched The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford tonight. This flim almost felt like a Ken Burns documentary. For starters, it had a narrator whose voice was utterly detached from the plot. It was also very contemplative. For a film that was about 2.5 hours long, there were long periods without any dialogue whatsoever. The camera lingered on the scenery more often than the characters, although admittedly it was worth it. Brad Pitt was uninspiring, however Casey Affleck did a superb job. The score was also well crafted. Overall, I liked it, even with its flaws.
