pop

I'm driving to work this morning, less than 3 miles away, and my rear passenger side tire blows out. I must have driven over something sharp, but I have no idea what. Thankfully I was pulling up to a red light when this happened so I wasn't going all that fast. I pulled over into the driveway of a company, and proceeded to attempt to change my tire. Of course, this being the first time I've ever had a flat tire, it was an interesting experience to say the least. It also didn't help that it was around 35F this morning, so I was freezing outside. Getting the lugnuts loose was a huge challenge, as they seemed to have been overtightened. One other good thing is that I had a full size spare, so at least the car is fully drivable at highway speeds. Denise is going to take my Passat to get the spare replaced tomorrow (thanks!). As a result of this fun incident, I got into work about an hour later than normal.
