mission peak

David & I hiked up Mission Peak in Fremont this morning. We arrived just before 9AM, and the parking lot off of Stanford Ave was already full, so we had to park about 3 blocks down the street from the trailhead. This was my 2nd hike up, and David's first. He wasn't too thrilled by the uphill portion, but he did it anyway, with about a dozen short rest breaks. We saw no cows at all, which also disapointed David, althoug we did see a pony, a few squirrels, a mole, a tarantula and a hawk. We got to the summit in about 2 hours, and had lunch. The previous time that I hiked up it was ridiculously windy and cold up there, but today it was just hot with no wind at all. David really loved going back down, and ran at full speed nearly the entire way down. We got to the car in about an hour, for a rountrip of 3 hours.
