lucky miles

I watched Lucky Miles tonight. This was an Australian film about a bunch of boat people (illegal immigrants) from Thailand, Iraq & Indonesia who wash up on a remote stretch of the western Australian coast, and their attempts to find asylum, civilization, or their dreams. Its not quite a drama, and not quite a comedy, but all the same, its a really nice film. The acting is stellar, the scenery is gorgeous, and the plots and subplots are endearing. This is definitely one of the better films that I've seen in quite a while.
