last night..
Last night, we went to the drive-in, and saw WALL*E followed by Momma Mia.
WALL*E was very cute. I don't know that the story had the same depth as The Incredibles, or even Toy Story, but it was still a classic Pixar film. If I had any big complaint, it was that the story felt like two different stories that were bolted together at the middle. The first half on Earth had a completely different mood than the 2nd half on the space ship. Regardless, I was pleased, and I'd like to see it a second time to better focus on the visuals.
Momma Mia was absolutely horrible. Granted, I didn't have high expectations going in, but it couldn't even meet them. The plot was contrived & ridiculous. The acting was attrocious, and most people just phoned it in (and the extras looked like they were walk-ons). The only non-sucky part was the music, but since it wasn't sung by ABBA, but instead by voice-over actors, even that sucked badly. Terribly crap.
