jury duty

Ugh. How is it that i managed to get summoned for jury duty two years in a row? With all the old folks out there who who love to contibute to the judicial system, why is it that I get selected to waste away my time on some hardened criminal that I don't care about? So, i call in at 5PM, and to add insult to injury, they defer me until 11AM. So i'm stuck on pins & needles until 11AM tomorrow when I have to call yet again just to find out if i have to drag myself up to the courthouse in Oakland at 2PM.
Surely this will be over by then.
