IRQ driven

I came across this article in the NYT Magazine, and the first two pages perfectly describe my work environment (especially during the past week). The gist of the article is how completely interrupt driven modern workers are (especially those in technology driven positions), to the extent that they rarely have more than a few minutes of uninterrupted work before something or someone else cuts in to whisk them away to do something else (be it pointless & mundane, or a critical showstopper).
I saw A History of Violence tonight. It was pretty good. Yes, it was incredibly violent, but that was the point.
