into the desert

We finally made the reservations for our trip in November. Basically 3 days in Death Valley and 3 days in Las Vegas. We don't plan to do any significant gambling, because

1) We're just not into gambling
2) We can't take anyone (David) under age 21 into a casino
So we'll just be gawking at all the other freakshows (human and otherwise). We're also planning to spend a full day & night at the Gold Point Ghost Town and part of a day in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. And finally, we're going to spend a chunk of the last day at the Calico Ghost Town.
We're alloting 9 days for the entire trip. I'm looking forward to it already, as I've never been to any of the sites.
