HW that hates me
For the past few months, I've had what seemed like really bad luck with harddrives. On my primary workstation at work, I've had IDE drives randomly failing. When it happened a few weeks ago, and then again yesterday afternoon, I was convinced that it wasn't my drives that were failing, but rather the motherboard's IDE controller. This mobo is admittedly rather old (its an AGP board that I've had since I was first hired nearly 2 years ago), so the fact that its become flaky isn't altogether surprising. But enough was enough, so I started making plans to migrate over to a newer system. Unfortunately, I was forced to do so this morning when I couldn't get the damn thing to boot at all. That was 45 minutes of my morning that I really would have liked to get back.
