hiking
David & I went hiking today around Santa Teresa County Park. We'd gone hiking there twice before, but this time we explored a much larger chunk of the eastern half of the park. We walked over to the Bernal/Joice Ranch entrance. We started of on the Joice Trail where we saw alot of deer in upper hills, and along the Vista Loop trail. After having some lunch, we crossed over onto the Mine trail, which we remained on all the way to its intersection with the Hidden Springs trail. We followed Hidden Springs northwest until it hit Bernal Road, and then followed that back down the hill.
Having the park so close by is nice, as we can literally see the hills of the park from our backyard. It was quite nice to spend several hours hiking without even having to drive. In total, adding in the distance walking to & from the park, we did just over 5 miles of hiking in roughly 3 hours.
