gone baby gone

I watched Gone Baby Gone tonight. The film can be neatly divided into two halves. The first half is a tight, fast moving crime investigation drama. It was compelling. The second half is a slow, unfocused, meditative, ambling drama, with a very slow climax. The 2nd half felt a bit too contrived for my taste, although the ending was decent. Put together, the two halves do add uup to a good film, but I wish there was alot more consistency throughout.
