food inc
Last night, we watched Food Inc, the documentary/expose about the food industry. Anyone who's paid even minimal attention to the headlines over the past few years wouldn't have been surprised by anything that in this film, but it was still well done, if not heavily condensed & edited. There were so many different topics that they covered (animal abuse, unsafe food processing facilities, genetic engineering, etc), that any one of them could have made a fairly substantial documentary in its own right. Trying to squeeze all of them into one film really prevented them from doing justice to the topics. Anyway, if you want to see Michael Pollan speak authoritatively about why Americans are killing themselves due to bad eating habits, this film will do the job nicely.
