F10
The wifi PCI card that's been in David's computer (a super old PIII-1Ghz based VA Linux system) has been flaky for quite some time. Lately, its been dead more than its worked. This coupled with the fact that David has been infatuated with Google Earth (on my computer), and we decided that it was time to give him an upgrade. I purchased one of these PCI wifi NICs with an RA2561 chipset, and proceeded to build it into an Athlon 2800 based system with Fedora 10. The F10 installation was uneventful. Overall, F10 seems to work ok, although it didn't take long to start finding bugs. The 'firstboot' network config tool had a typo on the DNS screen ("Primary DSN" instead of "Primary DNS"). Worse, system-config-network was just about useless, as it would crash every time I tried to save any settings. Neither was a big deal, but still, disappointing. David will probably start using the system tomorrow, at which point I'm sure that more bugs will start to crop up. I'll likely start upgrading the other F9 systems to F10 within the next month or so.
