Be Kind, Rewind
Last night, we watched Be Kind, Rewind. I really wasn't quite sure what to expect from this film. Just about anything with Jack Black tends to have an element of wackiness, but this one was bizarre as well. The basic premise is that Jack BLack's character gets magnetized, and ends up erasing all the videos at a VHS-only rental store. Their solution is to refilm everything themselves. Hilarity ensues, but also some truly strange situations that defied explanation. Overall the film bounced from silly to cute, but it seemed to be trying way too hard to make some profound statement with the overarching subplot about Fats Waller.
