and so it begins

I started the transition to the new job today. I spent an hour in the morning attending the staff meeting of the new group, and then about 90 minutes getting an overview of what the new group does. The way the transition is going to work, is that I'll be devoting roughly 30% of my time to the new group, and that will gradually ramp up until late March when I'm 100% working in the new group. I've also got a list of tasks that I need to start working on. And to add to the fun, my (old/pre-existing) manager tasked me with training someone as a "Linux backup" for whomever gets hired to replace me. I'll post more details at some point in the future.
