and so it begins
2004. wow. no, that was sarcastic. I never quite understood the whole fascination with a new year. Its another day. Sure, you have to measure the passage of time some how, but acting like everything is different, or better, or more likely to inspire happiness seems naive, or at least foolish to me.
For some reason, perhaps possibly rooted in reality, every new year's day that I can remember has been cloudy, overcast, or dreary. Today was no exception. It was pouring rain this morning, and remained cloudy for the remainder of the day. I guess January isn't exactly known, in North America, at least, as the sunniest month of the year, but even so, i can't remember it ever being sunny on January 1st.
I had a pretty good time last night. We watched six episodes of Buffy last night. The last two of the 2nd season, and then the first four of the 3rd season. I also gorged myself on an assortment of completely ridiculous food (pizza, cheese, & hard cider). So I managed to stay away until midnight, at which point we both went to bed.
I'm seriously considering going back on my so-called 'self improvement' plan. Basically, its just an attempt to eat better, and possibly exercise a bit. I did it fairly religiously 2 years ago.
