ahhhh...winter

Our naval orange tree's fruit if finally ripe. Last weekend, and again today, I started picking (and eating *YUM*) the oranges. There aren't as many as there were last year, and we distinctly remember them ripening alot earlier (like Thanksgiving), but I'll take what I can get.
Oddly, the tangerines on the other hand seem to be ripening somewhat faster than last year. There's one that is almost fully ripe, and many others that are 2-3 weeks from being ready for picking. The citrons are also ripening alot faster, and will likely be ready by the end of the month too (last year it was late January before there were any ripe ones).
Even more interesting, the tomato bushes that we planted way back in June are *still* bearing fruit like crazy. While the rate in which the tomatoes are ripening as slowed considerably, David still managed to pick about a dozen cherry tomatoes this morning, and there are easily a few hundred that are in the early stages of being ready. The goal at this point is to just let them keep growing for as long as possible and see if they ever die off due to the cold (it does get down to the upper 30s at night now).
